Sponsor Shout-Out: March Construction
March Construction chose to sponsor Kairos Food Rescue because of a staff recommendation. A member of their staff had heard of Kairos and recommended us for sponsorship. March donated some money but wanted to do more.
“Can we bring in an accountant to help you? Could you use a business planning person or something? Do you need help with Health and Safety?” they offered.
“Actually,” we said, “We need a sewer pipe.”
“Well,” they responded, “that’s what we do.”
Recent quotes for the work we needed had been coming in between $18,000 - $25,000. Workmen from March Construction came into our warehouse and worked for three or four days until the project was completed. They did it for free. No charge. No cost.
We realise a sewer pipe may not seem glamorous. But for Kairos, it means that we can have showers, toilets and washing machines available for those who need it. We can clean fruits and vegetables. It makes the whole operation possible.
