Spreading warm fuzzies
At Kairos, we do food. And while food remains at the heart of what we do, we love that our networks often enable us to connect the groups that we work with in a way that goes beyond food rescue.
A few months ago, the good people of University of Canterbury had a stash of brand new, unused but branded duvets that were surplus to their requirements. These good people hate waste almost as much as we do, and asked if we could help get the blankets to people who needed them.
Our friends at Christchurch City Mission were able to take some of these. We were thrilled to be able to send the rest to the Blanket Bank at Christchurch Methodist Mission where they will be passed on to those needing an extra bit of warmth this winter.
